This is an awesome little bag, and great for the price. The reflective stripes are great on the outside pockets. I like the added element of visibility the bag has to it and think that's a useful addition. The Star of Life is also a nice touch that my last case didn't have, however it's not reflective. It comes with a strap so you can hang it on your shoulder, which is very convenient and frees up one hand. It also has a handle on the top of the bag to carry it with, if you prefer that. The bag has three main compartments (separated by foam dividers), with two soft compartments in the front of the bag. There are also two zippered soft compartments on the sides of the bag. The main compartments and two fronts are covered by the flap of the bag. The edge of this flap has velcro on the inside where it secures to the bag, as well as the two latches on the very front outside. There are plenty of little holders that you can stick things like pens, small shears, pen lights, etc. in inside the main compartment, the front two compartments, and on the inside of top flap of the bag. The flap is "hollow" inside and has a zipper in case you wanted to stick maybe a first aid manual or papers or something like that inside it.The bag itself is *extremely* well made. Mine has been (literally) thrown, kicked (also literally), and abused from the time I had all my equipment put in it. It's been in the 130 degree trunk of a car for 8 hours during the summer, and soaked in the rain and has held up quite well. It seems like it would be fairly easy to clean, also.Stuff inside the inner three compartments of the bag should be pretty well protected from any kicks, things thrown at the bag, etc. since it's padded there, however I would hesitate to put anything electronic or containing fluids on the outside two or front two compartments of the bag if you plan on throwing it around like I do.However, as great as this bag is.... It's pretty small. Now, I fully realize this is my fault, and this bag could be perfect for your uses, but I was really thinking it would be larger. There's enough room in this bag for the essentials. However, don't expect to carry a full ambulance inside it. The bag is just big enough to carry a BP cuff, stethoscope, a small box of gloves, some bandages and bandaids, some gauze squares, a few medications, a bottle of eye wash, a chemical cold pack, shears, a small flashlight, a few pens and a chemical light stick, and a few other things. That's about what I've got inside of mine right now and it is FULL. At one point I managed to cram a traffic vest in a side pocket. My point about the space: If you're organized you can make it work. It's great for a first aid kit to keep in the car of a first responder or even as a personal kit in your home. However, I'd hesitate to call it a full out trauma bag. It's smaller than I personally expected. It can carry the essentials, but not everything I was hoping to cram inside. :)Now, if the small size is not an issue for you, this just could be your perfect bag.
