I recently purchased the Full Size ShurTrax for my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 2x4. Just put a set of 4 new All-Terrain tires on the truck toward the end of Summer. Prior to getting my ShurTrax system we got an early snow storm in October. Drove to work after the storm and fishtailed taking off at some intersections even though I gently accelerated. Tired of sliding around, I ordered ShurTrax online from Amazon, received it the next day! Good thing, since a snowstorm was due that night. Put the ShurTrax in the truck bed and used the garden hose attachment to fill it up. I will agree with other posts that threading the filler attachment onto the ShurTrax fill plug neck is a challenge, as is pulling the filler neck up in order to couple the hose to it. (My husband was finally able to do it, but with some difficulty) Once attached,was able to fill it up within minutes. Now 3 snowstorms later, one with ice underneath the snow, I must say my husband and I both noticed a huge difference how the truck handles on the roads. Now while driving with the ShurTrax installed, it is obvious that there is more weight in the truck bed and it handles so much better. Driving the truck in the early morning after a night of 3-4 inches of snow accumulation and before the snow/salt trucks had were out, I was able to take off and stop effectively from intersections where previously I had slid and fishtailed on. Going up snowy hills is also much easier. Now I can drive more confidently in the snow, while still using the appropriate amount of caution and adjusting my driving for the current road conditions. Wish I had a ShurTrax years ago. It is well worth the price for the added peace of mind and improved handling in the snow. I've already recommended it to people I know.
