Not sure about range of motion, use it to help/carry old dog upstairs. Great for that as it is made to lift a dog out of the water.I ordered the xxl for a 78lb pitbull. I measured her chest and it was at the low end, but clearly within the chest dimensions of the xxl. It was wayyyyy too big on all accounts. Should’ve gotten the xl.We took a trip to the river and finally got to take our fur baby. This was an excellent life jacket for him! He got to swim in the river and I felt completely confident!!!Well made.. my Lab moves in it like it isn’t even there. The 2 handles very helpful for larger dogs. I own 3 other jackets for my other Labs.. this one is much higher qualityEasy to adjust. Fits well.WOW, excellent quality and it strap well on my dog. loving it.This K-9 life jacket is made of very sturdy material. The handles are easy located on the ridge of the vest, making it easy to pick up your dog. The reflective trim makes it highly visible and the straps are highly adjustable. I fish offshore and my dog loves going on the boat, so this was a necessity. I hope he never needs the life vest, but I feel sure that if the need arises, my dog will be safe.We have a golden retriever who’s 82lbs and this fits great! Sturdy handle holds her weight bringing into the boat!My Golden Retreiver is a 80 something lb boy who refuses to leave the water. I bought him the XXL and it fits him perfectly with some extra room left over there are clips that go over the velcro making it even more secure and on the clips are orange locks so you can make it even more secure. I don't use the clip on top of the life jacket because he pulls like crazy so I don't want to risk the life jacket breaking. He has a no pull harness that has a front chest clip and I just put the life jacket on top of it and I can still use the front clip. My dog has a cleft nose and under bite which I think makes it easier for him to swallow sea water. I think this is helping a little keep his head above the water a bit more he just needs to get used to it. I would definitely recommend itI have not been able to try it out yet mum and dad said next weekend maybe if the weather is better it fits me ok and I haven’t tried to chew it yet. Mum is hoping it will give me some confidence in the water and I can practice my swimming… send an update one I have tried it out!! Love Hudson xMy rottie loves the water but is a big chap and not the most graceful swimmer, I could only find 2 life jackets to fit his 40 inch chest I brought both off Amazon and this one is far better quality and about £15 cheaper, the jacket is well made, stitching looks like it will last and handle is strong and he’s happy wearing it, he is used to wearing a big harness anyway and this is similar fit so he’s not fazed by it at all.I don’t normally write reviews but the difference in quality between the 2 jackets I purchased was amazing, I would definitely recommend this item to anyone.Now I’m off to see if I can teach my woofer to paddle board ? wish me luckThis doggy life jacket is great. It fits like a glove, although I did have to get a size large for a medium sized dog.As well as velcro fastenings both under the belly and around the chest, it also has clip fastenings to make it really secure.The handle on top is really strong and is great for reassuring the dog when he/she first goes in the water with you.There's also 2 rings to attach a lead for even more added security.The material is both strong and comfortable for the dog.And the best bit is that I can swim in the sea with my dog, knowing she is safe and won't get to tired.I highly recommend this doggy life jacket.
