My advocate at the Fontana Tobacco cessation program/clinic support group at UCSF recommended these. I've been chewing nicorrette forever and can't stand the generic stuff flavor and especially the texture. I don't actually like the way the nicotene makes me feel so much as I have been smoking for decades and it's that I am used to the behavior of smoking psychologically especially in certain situations, like as a response to stress or just before bed. I have insomnia. I am at an age where if I quit, my lungs can regenerate. I have MS and some mild lung issues unrelated to smoking but still---I really shouldn't be smoking so it is really important to me to quit. I actually have a prescription for the nicorette name brand gum but was having a tough time with the pharmacist and supplier and counting my pennies this month so I got these in the meantime to try them out. I was really tired today so I hopped in bed for a nap , tried out one of these lozenges and was pleasantly surprised. The flavor and texture are mild and minty and they last awhile in my mouth. I feel like the nicotene releases slowly into my system and I can just lean back and relax. For years the gum was the only thing that worked for me and the nurses and I struggled to work with suppliers and pharmacists to get my gum. It doesn't stick to my teeth or b ring on an immediate fatigue. I think it's gong to be a really great, improved behavior modification for me to see my way through stressful situations along with the other tools in my box and it is also going to be nice to do my nightly regime, take care of my teeth, set my medication alarm and lay b ack with a podcast or a netflix on my laptop or a book or whatever have a cool sip or water and just chill with the large, soft, soothing lozenge. I've tried the mini lozenge and thhe more expensive ones before too and they were more abrazive and weird. everyone has their own response to nicotene, smoking and like tobacco products, we are picky about our brands of smoking cessation products .I've learned to stand up for myself and to myself in advocating for my tobacco cessation medications in the same way I have to for my MS meds and my insomnia meds in my decision to be an active participant in my well being. I'm so glad I did this for myself. Heartily recommend.
